Introduction
Welcome to our Substance Transformation guide for Throne and Liberty. In this guide, we’ll take you through the system, “Substance Transformation” and how it works, and what else it connects to.
What is Substance Transformation in Throne and Liberty?
Substance Transformation is a system accessible through the in-game menu by pressing the “Esc” key. The main function of the system is to provide ways for players to recycle unwanted gear and items for brand new items. However, it is mostly random what items you’ll receive. There is a couple of variables you have control over to target-focus what you’ll roll for.
As seen above, you have control over a few factors, such as:
- The type of item that is rolled (Weapon, Armor, Accessory or random), with weapon costing the most Sollant to focus.
- The tier of Conversion.
- The choice of Runes or Equipment.
If you have items in your inventory or storage that’re no longer wanted or cannot be sold on the Auction House for Lucent, this is the perfect way to recycle them! With this method, you can potentially roll important gear you’re looking for, or something sellable.
Conversion Tiers
The Conversion Tiers determine the overall quality of the re-roll. However, it also adjusts various percentages for different items to roll. Additionally, the higher the tier (the highest being Tier 5), the higher the Sollant cost and amount of items required to reach the tier. As a result, for the absolute best chances of top-end gear, pushing for Tier 4 or 5 is important to guarantee a high chance. Finally, the amount of “conversion points” an item is worth is based on the following:
- Rarity of gear.
- The Tier of gear (Tier 2 Epic provides more than Tier 1 Epic).
- The amount of traits and/or upgrade materials put into the item.
- Materials provide far less points than weapons, armor or accessories.
An additional reward that increases based on the Tier you convert at also comes in the form of Trait Resonance Stone Fragments. These Fragments are important to your late-game progression as they’re crafted into Trait Resonance Stones at a Senior Crafter. The stones are required to add a 4th Trait known as “Trait Resonance” on a fully traited piece of gear.
Rune Conversion
The Rune Conversion tab functions similarly to the Equipment tab, however, there is 6 Conversion Tiers for runes. This version of Conversion, fortunately, is very straight forward with little room for choice. Simply throw in unwanted runes to push the Conversion Tier up and spin the wheel for new runes! You also have a chance for Rune Hammers, with a chance at various types of runes and rarity.
