Introduction
Welcome to our Fishing guide for Throne and Liberty. In this guide, we’ll go over the Fishing Life Skill and the benefits it brings and most importantly – how to do it.
How to Fish in Throne and Liberty
Fishing in Throne and Liberty is a relatively simple but rewarding process. The maximum level for the Fishing Life Skill is Level 25. The first things you’ll need to start your angling adventure is a Fishing Rod and some bait. The Contract Coin Merchant is the location of both the Bamboo Fishing Rod and a weekly Fishing Bait Chest.
There is also several other types of bait for different situations or fish:
- Paste Bait – Basic fishing bait used to attract a variety of fish. Its enticing smell and taste attract fish.
- Bait Hook – A hook for attaching bait.
- Bait Fish Fillet – High-quality bait made from fresh fish meat. Its rich flavor and soft texture make it excellent for attracting large fish. Increases fishing success.
- Bait Worm – A fresh lugworm that attracts a wide variety of fish, but is best for medium fish. It has a strong scent and vigorous movement. Widely used by beginners and experienced anglers alike.
- Bait Shrimp – Quality bait made from fresh, raw shrimp. It tempts fish with its naturally powerful scent and taste, and is particularly effective in attracting smaller species.
Once you’ve acquired both of these key items, you’re ready to start fishing! To fish, a deep enough bed of water (for example, lakes, the sea etc) is important so you can cast a line and attempt to catch a fish.
Catching the Fish
After finding a body of water you can fish in, use your Fishing Rod keybind or click on the Fishing Rod icon on your UI. Additionally, as seen on the left of the photo above, make sure you equip some bait! During the time the line is cast, a fish visually begins to swirl around the float. The fish eventually takes a bite and you’ll be prompted to press your defensive skill key (by default – “Q”).
With the fish on your hook, two stamina bars appear on your screen. The red-ish color represents the fish while the green color represents your stamina bar. To lower the fishes stamina bar, simple drag the fish the opposite way to the direction it’s swimming. For example, if the fish is swimming right – drag left (“A”). The fish is successfully caught & put into the inventory after the stamina bar of the fish is depleted. You’ll gain EXP for each fish caught to level up the Life Skill too. It is important to note that the fishes you catch during your fishing sessions can be used with your Cooking Skill to make consumable buff food.
Reward Sacks
Occasionally, you’ll find yourself reeling in both Small Sacks and Big Sacks. These sacks act as rewards throughout your fishing sessions. Typically, the Small Sacks are more frequent at lower levels of fishing, with more Big Sacks appearing at higher levels. The rewards inside vary, however, you can get powerful rewards such as ARCHBOSS FRAGMENTS (Queen Bellandir’s Carapace Fragments and Tevent’s Soul Fragments).
Other Fishing Rods
There is several improved Fishing Rods to look out for after you get your first fishing rod in Throne and Liberty. Similarly to how the higher your Fishing Level is, the higher the chance to catch rare fish, a better fishing rod provides an easier time catching fish – including rare fish. Here is a few additional fishing rods to chase:
- Steel Fishing Rod
- Monster Bone Fishing Rod
- Platinum Fishing Rod
- Kraken Fishing Rod
- Tevent Fishing Rod
- Obsidian Fishing Rod
- Whisperon Fishing Rod
- Gold Fishing Rod
