Introduction

Welcome to our Throne and Liberty Skill Specialization guide. In this section, we’ll teach you all the basics surrounding the Specialization system and how to navigate it. The Skill Specialization system is an additional layer of combat customization. For example, you can take an existing spell and change the way it works. Let’s take a more in-depth look below.

What is Skill Specialization?

In Throne and Liberty, Skill Specialization starts when your character reaches level 25, and a small guide teaches you the basics in-game. Once you hit level 25, you’ll unlock the Skill Specialization with all currently available skills. From this point onward, you’ll be gaining “Skill Specialization Points” with each level up, until level 50. At level 50, you should have a total of 100 Skill Specialization Points to power up your build with.

With these points, players have the freedom now to select powerful upgrades to their existing skills – sometimes even changing how the skill works entirely.

How to use the Skill Specialization Menu

First, press “K” to bring up your Skills menu as you normally would. Next to the Weapon Skill tab, click on the “Skill Specialization” tab.

In this menu you have the freedom to select any weapon to change the Skills of on the left-hand side. On the right-hand side of the interface, depending on what Skill you have selected, you’ll be able to see an overview of the options available. These options can completely change the behavior of the Skill and each come with their own Skill Specialization Points cost. To select the Specializations you want, simply click on the Skill you want to change, and then select the the small circle icon(s) underneath the Skill.

We recommend messing around with the many options available to find a style of Specialization you enjoy. To reset your Skill Specialization Points, simply click the dual-arrow icon to the right of the Skill Point number.

Greatsword

Skill NameSpecialization Effects & Cost
Valiant BrawlCruel Smite (5): Attacks 3 times in a row, dealing 110% Base Damage. Every time a hit becomes a heavy attack, the Cooldown decreases by 20%. If the attack lands as a Critical Hit or heavy attack, deals 88% damage to the target within a 3m radius.

Additional Damage Boost (7): After skill is used, damage increases by 5% for 2 seconds.

Aggression (3): Threat increases upon hit.
Precision DashBind (10): 80% chance to Bind the hit target for 2 seconds.

Range (5): Range +30%

Shield Block Chance Down (5): 80% chance to decrease the target’s Shield Block by 30% for 4 seconds.

Effect Duration (5): Heavy Attack increase duration increased by 1.5 seconds.
Stunning BlowCooldown (5): Skill Cooldown decreased by 15%.

Additional Damage Boost (3): Skill Damage Boost +150% for the next Skill used within 5 seconds.

Aggression (3): Increases threat upon hit.

Hit Rate (5): Skill Hit increases by 30%.

Effect Duration (7): Stun Duration increased by 1 seconds.
Death BlowDamage Concentration (5): Damage increases by 100% based on charge time.

Cooldown (5): Skill Cooldown decreases by 15%.

Damage (3): Damage dealt to a target in Prone status boosts by 30%.
DaVinci’s CourageDaVinci’s Chill (10): Increase Max Health by 440, Health Regen by 110 for 12 seconds. Applies Weaken: Frost to the target within 5m which decreases Move Speed by 5%. When 10 stacks is reached, the target becomes Bind: Icebound for 3 seconds. Applying Frost to a target that is Icebound increases Bind duration by 0.2 seconds.

Duration (7): Effects Duration increases by 3 seconds.

Damage Reduction (7): When effect is applied, Damage Reduction additionally increases.

Instant Healing (3): When the effect is applied, recovers Health by 200% of Base Damage + 200.
Gaia CrashFrost Cleaving (7): Deals 383% of Base Damage + 56 to every enemy withing a 3m radius, and then deals another instance of damage to the same area after a second. If the targets are affected by Bind: Icebound, they receive 498% + 73 damage.

Attack Speed (3): Attack Speed increases by 15% for 3 seconds after using the Skill.

Critical Hit (3): Skill Critical Hit increases by 300.
Devastating TornadoIce Tornado (7): Attack Speed increases by 100%, hitting 12 times dealing 57% of Base Damage + 9. When hit, damage increases by 8% and applies Weaken: Speed Decrease. Bind for 3 seconds is applied when the target reaches 10 stacks. Bind: Icebound duration increases by 0.2 seconds when Frost is applied to a Frozen target. Moves 11% faster and can pass through targets.

Resistance (3): Increases All CC Resistances by 200 while using the Skill.

Cooldown (5): Skill Cooldown decreases by 5 seconds.

Bonus Damage (3): Inflicts an additional damage that is equal to 17.1% of Base Damage +3 to a Bound target.
WillbreakerDamage Area Change (5): Deals 100% of Base Damage to all enemies within a 3m radius and applies Weaken that lowers defenses by 300 for 6 seconds.

Evasion Down (5): Upon hit, the target’s Evasions are decreased by 300.

Aggression (3): When hit, threat maxes out.
Ascending SlashCharging Slash (5): Wrath Attack | Rushes to the designated target, dealing damage equal to 265% of Base Damage + 54. Applies Collision: Prone with a 80% chance against Bound, Sleeping or Stunned targets, or those using Static Defense for 2.5 seconds. For each Heavy Attack, Collision: Prone duration increases by 1 second.

Additional Damage Boost (3): Skill Damage Boost of the Skill used next within 5 seconds increases by 250.

Cooldown (3): Skill Cooldown decreased by 15%.

Effect Duration (3): Prone Duration increased by 1 second.
Devastating SmashEffects Chance (7): The Stun Chance is increased by 15%

Effect Duration (5): Stun Duration increases by 1 second.
Guillotine BladeDamage Concentration (7): Damage increases by 100% based on charge time.

Cooldown (3): Skill Cooldown decreased by 15%.

Area Damage (5): Inflicts 630% of Base Damage + 80 damage to a 3m radius around the target if the attack is Critical or Heavy Attack hit.
Blood DevotionDevoted Sanctuary (5): All Party Members within 15m receive 40% of damage taken for 6 seconds. When damage is applied, only 100% of the damage is applied.

Duration (3): Effects Duration increased by 3 seconds.

Damage Transfer Increase (5): Transferred damage increases by 30%.

Additional Damage Boost (5): Increases damage inflicted to the connected target by 50.

Cooldown Reduced (5): Cooldown decreases by 15s.

Sword and Shield

Skill NameSpecialization Effects & Cost
Shield StrikePiercing Attack (5): Deals damage to the target and all enemies in a 60-degree cone. Weakens the target with a 70% chance to apply a 250 Hit decrease for 6 seconds. Shield Strike’s Melee Heavy Attack Chance increases by 20 per 1% of Shield Block Chance. On counterattacking with Counter Barrier, Shield Strike cooldown decreases by 1.3 seconds. The target’s threat greatly increases.

Aggression (3): The Damaged target’s aggression greatly increases.

Critical Hit Down (5): When Weaken is applied to a target, has a 70% chance to apply a Critical Hit decrease of 250 for 6 seconds.
Counter BarrierConcentrated Barrier (7): Accumulates damage taken (up to 100% of Max Health) for 6 seconds. If used again within 6 seconds, deals 15% of the accumulated damage + 200% of Base Damage to every enemy within attack range. After that, Shield Block Chance increases by 13% for 3 seconds.

Cooldown (5): Upon a successful counterattack, Shield Strike cooldown decreases by 0.5 seconds.

Additional Damage Boost (5): While Counter Barrier lasts, the Base Damage increases by 5%.
Strategic RushRange (5): Width of Strategic Rush increased by 150%.

Effects Target (3): Strategic Rush can now target up to 8 targets.

Move Speed Down (5): On hit, has a 70% chance to decrease Move Speed 50% for 2 seconds.
Chain HookControlling Rake (7): Has an 80% chance to apply Collision: Pull to up to 10 enemies within 6 times the attack range in the designated direction, Binding them for 3 seconds.

Range (5): The attack range increases by 3.75m.

Wrath Attack (5): Changes to Wrath Attack skill.

Rear Chain Hook (3): Has an 80% chance to apply Collision: Pull, pulling the target behind the location where the skill is used and binds them for 3 seconds. When used on boss monsters, pulls you to them. Increases the target monster’s Hostility to max on hit.
Provoking RoarCleaving Roar (5): Has an 70% chance to decrease all Endurances by 200 on 6 enemies within 3m range for 2 seconds. (3 seconds against Monster, always hits).

Effect Duration (3): Duration increases by 1.2 seconds (1.8 against monsters).

Cooldown (5): Cooldown decreases by 6 seconds.

Bonus Damage (5): Deals additional damage equal to 220% of Base Damage.
Shield ThrowWhirling Shield (7): Hurls a shield at the target, dealing 270% of Base Damage. The shield ricochets up to 4 times to other enemies within a 5m radius of the target, dealing the same damage. All Heavy Attack Chances increase by 30 for 2 seconds. The target’s threat greatly increases.

Aggression (3): The damaged target’s threat greatly increases.

Consecutive Use (7): Can be used twice with a chance of 35%.
Stalwart BastionGreat Fury (7): Skill Damage Boost increased for 9 seconds for you and party members within a 10m radius. The area lasts for 2 seconds.

Move Speed Up (3): Move Speed increases by an additional 10%.

Focus on effect target (7): Changes to a skill that affects you and improves the effectiveness of the skill.

Cooldown Reduced (5): Cooldown decreases by 15s.
Annihilating SlashMove Speed Down (3): Damaged target’s Move Speed decreases by 60%.

Consecutive Use (7): You can use Annihilating Slash 2 times.

Range (5): Range increases by 1.5m.
Fierce ClashDesperate Clash (7): Deals a percentage of Base Damage with a 80% chance to apply Collision: Prone. To other enemies within a 3m radius, has a chance to apply Collision: Push. Has the same chance to Push enemies that collide with the target and decrease the damage they deal. The target is Stunned for 3 seconds on colliding with a wall.

Damage (5): Damage increases by 200%.

Effects Chance (3): The Collision Chance increases by 10%.
Witty StrikeStamina Recovery (5): Also recovers Stamina by 12 per target.

Consecutive Use (7): You can use Witty Strike 2 times.
Immortal PrideBlessing of Immortality (7): Creates a barrier equal to 12% of Max Health to yourself and friendly target for 6 seconds.

Resource Cost (3): Skill Mana Cost decreases by 80%.

Health Regen (3): Health Regen increases by 200% for the skill’s duration.

All Defense (5): All Defenses gain an additional 5% during Immortal Pride (Up to 1500).
A Shot at VictoryAnnihilation Blade (10): Uses Annihilation Blade in the designated direction, dealing 730% of Base Damage to all enemies with 6 times the attack range, and increases Longsword skill damage by 20% for 6 seconds.

Boost Effects (5): The Longsword skill Bonus Damage increases to 30%.

Effect Duration (5): The Longsword skill Bonus Damage duration increases to 2 seconds.

Dagger

Effect Accumulation (7): Apply Weakened: Thunderclouds on targets.

Shadow StrikeShadow Escape (10): Moves to the casting location if used again within 6 seconds.

Range Up (5): Range is increased by 40%.

Effect Duration Up (5): Bind Duration increased by 1 second.

Effect Accumulation (5): Apply Weakened: Thunderclouds on hit targets.
Inject VenomLightning Infusion (10): Adds Weaken: Thunderclouds effect to all attacks for 9 seconds and decreases all Endurances by 16 per stack. Stacks up to 20 times. Reusing the Skill within 9 seconds will stab the target with both hands. Each stab deals 120% + 23 damage followed by an additional 180% + 35 damage. Applies Weaken: Thunderclouds to every target within a 3m radius area from the target.

Resource Cost Down (3): Mana Cost decreased by 25%

Cooldown (5): Cooldown decreased by 3 seconds.

Effect Duration Increase (5): Increases the duration of Poison or Thunderclouds by 2 seconds.
Brutal IncisionThunderclouds Bombing (7): Changes Brutal Incision into “Thunderclouds Bombing”. Thunderclouds Bombing deals 240% base damage + 71, Critical Hit is increased by 600 if the target is below 50%. The target receives 48% + 14 additional damage if the target has Weaken: Thunderclouds. The damage is boosted by 100% per stack. Critical Damage increases by 20%.

Damage (5): Damage is boosted against poisoned targets by 15%.

Cooldown (7): Attacking a target with 20 Thunderclouds stacks decreases the Cooldown by 30%.
Vampiric StrikeAdditional Hit (7): Triggers 1 additional hit.

Boost Effects (5): Vampirism amount +15%.
Knife ThrowingLightning Throw (7): Changes to Lightning Throw. Throws 5 daggers up to 4.8 times the normal Attack Range. Decreases Endurances by 110. If the target has Wet or Thunderclouds, a random enemy within a 5m radius will receive the same damage.

Cooldown (3): Cooldown decreased by 3 seconds.

Effect Duration (5): Effect duration increased by 2 seconds.

Additional Hit (3): +1 Knife thrown.
Umbral SpiritThunder Spirit (7): Changes to Thunder Spirit. Deal additional bonus damage if your attack was a Melee Critical Hit for 6 seconds. If the target is affected by Wet or Thunderclouds, inflict damage to 2 random enemies within a 5m radius of the target.

Damage up (5): Additional damage increases by 30% for Poison attacks.

Duration (5): Duration increased by 1.5 seconds.
Ankle StrikeExpand Conditions (5): Knocks target prone and decreases target’s Move Speed.

Off-Hand Weapon Activation (5): Upon hit, Off-Hand Weapon Activation Rate increases by 30% for 3 seconds.
Camouflage CloakImmune to CC (7): Become immune to Crowd Control during the activation of the skill.

Cooldown (3): Cooldown decreased by 10%.

Duration (5): Duration increased by 2 seconds.

Fatal StigmaArea Damage (5): Deal damage to targets within a 3m radius from the initial target.

Cooldown Resets (3): If the target dies while branded, the skill Cooldown resets.

Range increase (7): The Skill casting range increases by 4.8 times.

Damage up (5): Damage increases proportional to the target’s lost Health.
Phantom SmokescreenMelee Evade (7): Now always dodges melee projectiles.

Duration Increased (5): Duration increased by 1 second.
Frenzied Sword DanceMad Sword Dance (5): Changes to Mad Sword Dance. Approach the target and deal damage 3 times consecutively. Can be used one more time if used again within 3 seconds.

Effect Accumulation (3): Apply Weaken: Thunderclouds on hit.

Cooldown (3): Cooldown decreased by 15%.

AoE Damage (3): Deals 60% of Base Damage in a 3m radius of arrival point.

Bow

Skill NameSpecialization Effects & Costs
Zephyr’s NockDamage (5): Attacking a target with Gale status that you applied consumes a Gale stack, inflicting additional damage per stack.

Collision (5): Attacking while Whirlpool is active has a 80% chance to apply Collision: Push. If the target is already affected by a Collision effect, deals additional damage to an enemy within a 5m radius.

Cooldown (7): Attacking the target with Target stacks consumes 1 Target stack, and the remaining Cooldown decreases by 6% per stack.
Ensnaring ArrowCooldown Resets (5): Upon defeating a target from at least 10m away, gain a 35% chance to reset Ensnaring Arrow.

Effect Duration (5): Attacking the target with Target stacks that you applied consumes 1 Target stack, increasing the durations of Bind and Oppress by 0.2 seconds.

Hit rate (5): Skill Hit Rate +20%.
Decisive SnipingCollection Time (5): Collection Time duration and maximum damage increased.

Damage (7): Boost damage against CC’d enemies by 25%.

Collection Time Down (3): While affected by Whirlpool, maximum collection status increases by 20%.

Able to Move (5): Charge Decisive Sniping while moving.

Decisive Bombardment (5): Changes to Decisive Bombardment. Based on charge time, shoot an arrow to the aimed location dealing 500%-800% base damage. Increases Critical Hit by 200-400 for 3 seconds.
StrafingGale (7): Applies gale for 6 seconds to the target. Explodes on the 10th stack, dealing damage within a 3m radius.

Able to Move (5): Dash 4m in a direction of choice and attack on the first use.

Consecutive Use (10): Increases additional use count to 2.
Nature’s BlessingVitality (7): While Nature’s Blessing and Healing Touch are active on a friendly target, the target continuously heals 130% of base damage per second. Increases Health Regen by 100, then additionally boosts it by 50.

Cooldown (5): Cooldown is reduced by 3 seconds when Weaken is removed.

Whirlpool (3): Creates a 5m Whirlpool area on the current location for 6 seconds. While in Whirlpool status, Move Speed increases by 20%, and adds 1 additional stack when Whirlpool is applied.
Brutal ArrowGale Area (5): Creates a Gale area which inflicts damage on the drop locations for 5 seconds. Applies Gale for 6 seconds and explodes on the 10th stack within a 3m radius.

Range Up (5): Attack range increases by 2m.
Arrow VortexTornado (10): Creates a 4m radius Tornado that moves to the designated direction. The Gale deals 100% of Base Damage to enemies in range, and applies Gale for 6 seconds. The Tornado causes Collision: Push with a 70% chance to float targets in the air for 2 seconds. You can attack the enemy multiple times while in the area, the Collision Effect does not stack.

Whirlpool (5): Creates a 8m radius of Whirlpool area on the current location for 6 seconds when throwing a projectile. While in Whirlpool status, Move Speed increases by 20% and adds 1 additional stack when Whirlpool is applied.
Healing TouchDuration (3): Applying Flash Wave to a party member with Healing Touch that you applied increases Healing Touch duration by 6 seconds.

Additional Health Recovery (3): When the effect ends, recovers Health by 100% of Base Damage per stack.

Resource Cost (7): Healing Touch’s Mana Cost decreased by 30%.
Deadly MarkerTarget (5): Applies an additional Marker against a target with Deadly Marker.

Hit (5): Party members who attack enemies with Deadly Marker gain additional 150 Hit.
Purifying TouchAdditional Removal (5): Has a 50% chance to remove another debuff.

Cooldown (5): Cooldown decreased by 30%.

Healing Touch (5): Applies 1 Healing Touch to the target upon removal.
Flash ArrowFlash Wave (10): Changes to Flash Wave. The power of the Skill is based on the total charge time. Throw a large radius arrow to the aimed location to deal 360% of Base Damage to 720% of Base Damage to every enemy within the range. Allies within the area receive a healing over time that is equal to 48% of Base Damage to 96% for 6 seconds.

Range Up (7): Flash Arrow range increases by 2m. Flash Wave width increases by 4m.

Blind (5): An attack has an 80% chance to apply Weaken, which decreases 300 Hit for 6 seconds.

Effect Duration (5): Flash Arrow’s Stun duration increases by 1 second. Flash Wave’s continuous recovery duration increases by 3 seconds.
BlitzLimit Break (10): Using the following Skills within 5 seconds since the Cooldown reset enhances their abilities:
1. Decisive Sniping, The damage increases proportional to the charging time: 150% Base Damage to 450% per second for 3 seconds.
2. Flash Wave, The damage and continuous healing increases by 20%.
3. Healing Touch, After the effect is applied, heals 115% of Base Damage per Healing Touch stack. Also, the remaining cooldown time of Limit Break decreases by 10 seconds.
4. Purifying Touch, Removes every debuff from a target. After the removal, the remaining cooldown time of Limit Break decreases by 10 seconds.

Cooldown (7): Cooldown decreased by 15 seconds.

Crossbow

Skill NameSpecialization Effects & Cost
Quick FireGale (7): On hit, apply Gale for 6 seconds to the target. Explodes on the 10th stack dealing damage within a 3m radius.

Minimum Chain Fire (10): Minimum amount of attacks from Quick Fire becomes 4.

Damage (5): Damage increases by 20 and Cooldown increases by 3 seconds.

Cooldown (5): On critical hit, the Cooldown decreases by 10%.
Nimble LeapWhirlpool (7): Creates a 3m radius of Whirlpool Area for 3 seconds. While in Whirlpool status, Move Speed increases by 20%, and add 1 more stack when Whirlpool is applied.

Consecutive Use (5): Becomes a Skill with 2 charges.

Cooldown Resets (10): Quick Fire cooldown resets when used.

Immune (5): Become immune to Crowd Control for 0.5 seconds upon use.
Mortal MarkChain Effects (5): If the target with Mark is defeated, Mortal Mark gets transferred to every enemy within 5m of the target. The Mark transfers up to 2 times, and transferred Mark doesn’t accumulate damage.

Detonation Mark (7): Change to Detonation Mark. The Bonus Damage is removed and accumulated damage increases by 40%.

Stamina Stagnation (5): Marked target’s Stamina Regen decreases by 100%.
Recoil ShotGale (5): On hit, applies 2 Gale stacks for 6 seconds to the target. Inflicting damage to enemies within a 3m radius.

Wave Shot (5): Changes to Wave Shot when Push reaches 3 stacks. If Wave Shot is activated, consumes all Repulsive Force stacks to deal 400% of Base Damage and applies Collision: Push with an 80% chance.

Off-Hand Weapon Attack (5): Recoil Shot Off-Hand Weapon Attack Chance increases by 30%.
Multi-ShotRapid Shot (5): Changes to Rapid Shot skill. Upon the change, Cooldown decreases by 6 seconds. Collision and Move Speed reduction are removed.

Collision Shot (5): Changes to Collision Shot. Cooldown Increases by 9 seconds. Attack range decreases by 30 degrees, and the range of Collision: Push greatly increases.
Selfless Diffusion
Health Concentration Recovery (5): Heals 100% of the damage that was inflicted for the first 1 second.

Aggression (3): Threat generation reduced by 30% for 6 seconds.
Mother Nature’s ProtestGale Arrow (7): Changes to Activate/Deactivate format. Can activate Gale Attribute (Mother Nature’s Protest projectiles have a chance to apply Gale for 6 seconds).

Flame Arrow (7): Changes to Activate/Deactivate format. Can activate Fire Attribute (Mother Nature’s Protest projectiles have a chance to apply Weaken: Burning for 3 seconds, with the same effect as Serial Fire Bombs).

Frost Arrow (7): Changes to Activate/Deactivate format. Can activate Frost Attribute (Mother Nature’s Protest projectiles have a chance to apply Frost and Weaken which decreases Move Speed by 10% for 1 second).

Lightning Arrow (7): Changes to Activate/Deactivate format. Can activate Lightning Attribute (Mother Nature’s Protest projectiles have a chance to deal additional damage that is equal to 120% of base damage. If the target is Wet or has Frost that was applied by you, the status transfers to another enemy with 5m).
Mana ExchangeBoost Effects (5): Upon use, Health cost increases by 100%, cooldown increases by 100%, and Mana recovery increases by 100%.

Stamina Recovery (5): Heals Stamina by 15 upon use.

Removes CC (7): Removes Stun and Sleep that other players applied.
Explosive TrapShock Bomb (7): Explosion has a 80% chance to apply Stun for 3 seconds.

Set-up Range (3): Can be used within 100% of Attack Range.

Duration (7): Explosive Trap Duration increases by 10 seconds.
Merciless BarrageAnnihilation Barrage Shot (10): Change to Annihilation Barrage Shot. Attack every enemy within a 6m radius without Casting Time.

Wild Barrage (5): Change to Wild Barrage. Attack every enemy within a 30-degree cone shaped area.

Gale (5): On hit, applies Gale for 6 seconds to the target. Explodes on 10th stack, inflicting damage to enemies within a 3m radius.
Wind Snatcher Chain Damage (5): Transfers to another enemy within 5m radius of the target.

Stamina Absorption (7): On hit, target’s Stamina decreases by 15. You recover Stamina by 15.
Weak Point ShotExpand Conditions (7): Weak Point Shot activates upon hitting a target affected by Stun, Bind, Sleep or Collision.

Cooldown (5): Cooldown decreases by 20%.

Staff

Skill NameSpecialization Effects & Cost
Serial Fire BombsFocused Fire Bombs (7): Transforms Serial Fire Bombs into a single charged Fireball. The fireball deals between 510%-1020% Base damage depending on charge time. Stacks up to 5 burn stacks at once. Has a 80% chance to apply an 80% Healing Reduction for 6 seconds.

Able to Move (3): Able to move while casting.

Range (5): Applies the same damage to a 3m radius from the target.

Projectile Speed (3): Projective speed increases by 200%.

Instant Activation (5): Serial Fire Bombs have no cast time (cannot be used with Focused Fire Bombs).
