Introduction
Welcome to our Throne and Liberty Artifact guide. In this guide we’ll provide you with everything you need to know about the Artifact system. This includes progression, where to farm Artifacts, how they work and more. To unlock the Artifact System, you’ll have to complete “The Child Who Embraces the Star” Quest and reach Castle Harbor.
The Artifact System
Artifacts in Throne and Liberty become a vital part of progression in Tier 2 Content. the Talandre region. The Artifacts provide passive bonuses and active effects based on which Artifacts you slot into your system menu. These bonuses can improve your experience across the board, for example, in PVP. Some Artifacts give your characters better defenses, while some provide more offensive options.
Each type of Artifact has a set-bonus of 2, 4 and 6 connected to them, boasting great thematic upgrades for your character.
There is a total of 6 slots available to put Artifacts of your choice into. Each slot takes different parts of each Named Artifact set that provide different bonuses. As a result, mix and match based on your preferences in battle or the type of content you enjoy.
Where to obtain Artifacts
To obtain Artifacts and farm Artifacts in Throne and Liberty, there is a few key methods:
- Dungeons: Group content Dungeons provide you with Artifact reward chests
- Nebula Island: Mob farming on Nebula Island is by far the most efficient and abundant farm method for Artifacts. Every monster on the island yields constant Artifact drops. However, be aware that many zones on the Island are PVP-on.
- Event Rewards: Limited-time events, Battle Pass etc all provide a healthy dose of Artifacts.
- Specific Abyss Dungeons in Talandre drop specific types of Artifacts in a chest.
- Feeding the Substance Transmutation system with unwanted Artifacts to produce more (similarly to Runes).
It is vital to farm the Artifacts of your choice as much as possible. This is due to the fact that each Artifact is VERY difficult to get a perfect version of.
How to get the Best Artifacts in Throne and Liberty
Dropping Artifacts is only half the battle, as there is multiple factors that decide on how good your Artifacts are. For example, when an Artifact drops, the following parameters are rolled randomly:
- The Artifact “main stat” (for example, Max Health, + Damage).
- The Traits that roll on the Artifact.
- The level of each Trait on the Artifact.
This means that while you may drop a specific Artifact piece you want, you may not get the desired Traits or potency of the trait. The Traits on an Artifact work similarly to Gear Traits, there is 4 “levels” that indicates whether or not a Trait is maxed out. Your Artifact could roll with only a level 1 Trait you desire, or it could roll as a best-in-slot level 4 Trait, giving you the maximum amount of stats.
Trait Stats and How They’re Rolled
A max rolled Trait is identified by a star icon. As can be seen in the image, the Artifact itself is marked with TWO stars (**). Seeing this is the quickest way to know whether or not it’s a high-rolled Artifact, although that doesn’t mean it’s the rolls you wanted. A 3-star Artifact with all the Traits you desired is considered a best-in-slot Artifact.
How do Artifacts Work?
Artifacts have 6 individual slots, 4 minor slots, and Active major slot and a Passive major slot. As a result, the image above shows the Active on the left, with the Passive slot on the right. Within the Artifact menu, you can also see the effects of the slotted Major Artifacts (also known as “Solar” and “Lunar” Stones). In this example, we have an Active Artifact, which acts as a brand-new usable Skill, that recovers 3000 Health over 10 seconds. Additionally, we have a Passive Stone that increases your Base Damage with each CC you land that deals damage.
As a result, the Solar and Lunar Stones you select can offer diverse and impactful gameplay changes – pick wisely!
Set Bonuses
Set bonuses on Artifacts is also present. Each set of Artifacts has a 2-set, 4-set and also a full 6-set bonus. Mixing and matching Artifact sets to achieve your preferred outcome for your build is flexible.
