Introduction
In the Rancorwood Dungeon Guide, we’ll explain and take you through a step-by-step of how to progress and beat the final boss to clear this particular 3-star dungeon. 3-star dungeons in Throne and Liberty provide incredible rewards to aid the next level of progression in Tier 2. These dungeons are particularly difficult until you’re fully geared. As a result, a mix of maxed out T1 gear and some T2 gear is advised.
Trash Clearing, Mini-bosses and Pre-Final Boss Objectives
Just like in every other Dungeon in Throne and Liberty, there is a slew of objectives, basic mobs and a couple of mini-bosses to kill if you want to reach the main boss. This applies to 1-star, 2-star and 3-star dungeons also. However, in this guide, we’ll be focusing on how to defeat the final boss of the dungeon – the hardest part by far. As a result, make sure to check back for the full breakdown of the Rancorwood dungeon guide here in the near future. Finally, keep in mind these objectives while pushing through the Rancorwood:
- Clear out any unavoidable trash mobs to ensure you don’t over-pull mobs.
- Check your current objective(s) on the right-hand side of the screen and complete them accordingly.
- Most mini-bosses have minimal if any mechanics, just be sure to stay healthy, dodge attacks and deal damage.
- Pick up any Resurrection Gate where possible.
PLEASE NOTE: The guide below is the COMPLETE guide of the dungeon – all mechanics included. However, some of the mechanics are stripped away in the “base” version of the dungeon. These mechanics are added back in the “Dimensional Trials” mode at certain Tiers of difficulty. As a result, the base version of the dungeon is much easier than you might expect after seeing all the mechanics below.
Final Boss – King Khanzaizin
Once the Boss fight starts, King Khanzaizin throws out two Dodge Roll-based Fury Attacks. After these two attacks, the Boss drops a small meteor on every players current position.

Immediately after the meteors, the first proper mechanic occurs.
Meteor Stack
The furthest player away from the boss is targeted by a larger, high damage meteor. As a result, it is recommended to assign a healer and another Ranged DPS to stand with the target and soak the meteor as it lands.
As can be seen on the arena’s design, there is “pizza-like” partitions in the circle. The meteor that players soaked leaves a patch of fire on the pizza slice it lands on.
AoE Block Check
Next, the boss initiates a widescale block check for the party. The first block covers the inner and middle sections of the platform.
The second block check is the outside ring of the arena. As a result, dodge roll forward on the first block check to be safe regardless.
When the third block check begins, the inner and outer rings of the arena are targeted. This time, however, the fire previously created on one pizza slice spreads to the two adjacent tiles.
A fourth and final block check occurs, however, it is a standard block instead of a rolling dodge. This attack MUST be blocked to be able to proceed with the next mechanic.
Blocking the final Fury Attack allows players to grab the water buff from the geyser below the arena. As a result, all players other than the tank is recommended to drop down into the geyser and pick up the buff. Once you’ve collected the buff, bring it up to the parts of the platform that’re on fire and extinguish them. Realistically, you’ll only need 3 players to land on the fire and extinguish it. However, we still recommend getting all 5 non-tank players in the party to get the buff just incase.
As this mechanic is happening, the tank (if all 5 players dropped down below) is marked with a red orb. This red orb indicates that wherever the tank is standing, that pizza tile will explode and is gone for the rest of the fight. As a result, the tank can simply break tiles that aren’t that in the way while the other players clear the fire.
Mechanic changes after 50% HP
The boss at this point is basically repeated until beaten as the main mechanics have been covered. The only real differences are:
- Two players get orbs that break pizza slices instead
- Four tiles get set on fire instead
- The players with orbs should break the tiles that are on fire
And that’s it! You’ve officially beaten the Rancorwood dungeon – enjoy the loot and good luck.
