Introduction
In order to gain access to Taedal’s Tower floor 13 you must be level 38 and have completed floor 12. On this floor you will be encountering a large lightning imbued stone boss named the Lightning Jump Attacker. Much like the previous floor you will need to perform a simple mechanic first prior to the boss appearing. Make sure you pay attention to this mechanic because it’s used throughout the duration of the fight.
This guide will tell you everything you need to know in order to be successful on Taedal’s Tower floor 13 and progress to the next floor. For more general information about Taedal’s Tower you can check our Taedal’s guide here.
Abilities & Mechanics
Whenever you enter Taedal’s Tower floor 13 you will see 3 floating stones. In order to summon the boss you must first complete the stone mechanic. You simply need to transfer the energy from one stone to the next. This is done by standing near the stone with the red glow underneath it. Whenever you do this you will see a line of energy connect you with the stone. Simply move to the next closest stone to transfer the energy to it. Once it’s transferred you will do this again and move the next stone. You must clear all the stones before the boss drops from the sky.
Most of the boss’s abilities can be blocked. However, they are chained together with a stomp that can not be blocked. You can only avoid it by moving out of the area. See the strategy section below for tips on how to make this encounter much easier.
Abilities
The boss has the following abilities that you need to be aware of:
- Leap – The lightning jumper will leap to your position. When he lands he deal a good amount of AoE damage if you’re caught in the area. You can move out of the area to avoid the damage. You can also block this ability with a perfect block.
- Lightning Stomp – The boss will stomp on the ground. When he does this it causes a large lightning AoE. However, the AoE can be blocked with a perfect block. He also summons several lightning bolts that span across the arena and move across the arena as well. There are gaps between the lightning bolts that you must move through. If you are hit by a bolt you will be paralyzed for a short duration. Be aware that when he is enraged there will only be on gap you can move through.
- Lightning Punch – The boss will slam his fists on the ground. This causes a very large lightning AoE. This ability can not be blocked. If you are hit you will take significant damage and will be paralyzed. Read the “Boss Strategy” section below for tips on how to avoid this mechanic.
- Stone Puzzle – The stone puzzle works just as the puzzle you completed to spawn the boss at the beginning of the fight. You must clear all the stones before the boss hits the floor. When you do you will receive a shield that will shield you from the boss drop. Once you transfer the energy from the first stone you will see a large shadow circle on the ground. This indicates how long you have until the boss lands. If the boss lands before you clear the stones you will take a huge amount of damage and potentially die.
Boss Strategy
The boss will leap to you which can be blocked. Right after the leap he will smash the ground with his fists performing the lighting punch ability. The lightning punch ability deals a lot of damage, will stun you, and can not be blocked. However, you can avoid this mechanic all together. He will only perform this mechanic if you are at range. If you stay within melee range of the boss he will not perform the lightning punch.
This is much easier than constantly trying to run out of the range of lightning punch. You will also not be dealing damage a lot of the fight because you will be running to avoid the damage. So, make sure you stay within melee range.
However, he will still perform both leap and lightning stomp. Both of those attacks can be blocked. So, you must be able to time your blocks appropriately. You also need to be aware of the lightning bolts that spawn after lightning stomp. Make sure you avoid them and move through the gaps to avoid being stunned.
The boss will also still perform normal melee attacks while you are in close range. However, these attacks do a fraction of the damage that lightning punch does. So, you can stay within melee range, deal constant damage, and utilize health potions to stay alive. Utilizing this strategy makes the encounter significantly easier.
