Introduction
Welcome to our Longbow and Dagger Solo build guide. In this guide, we’ll go over our recommended way to set-up the Longbow and Dagger weapon combination for Solo Farming. This set-up is primarily used in Abyss Dungeons in the Open World.
Skills
Below is our Skill set-up for Solo PVE farming:
This combination of Skills allows for powerful single-target gameplay at range, with some AoE/cleave and in melee.
Skill Specializations
With 100 total points to play with once you hit Level 50, below is our recommended Specializations for the Longbow and Dagger Solo build:
These particular Specializations provides a comfortable set-up for farming mobs as a solo player in Throne and Liberty. The build utilizes Thunderclouds and the standard Longbow Skills. See our Skill Specializations guide for more information.
Weapon Mastery
This guide assumes you are at least in the range of Level 13-16 Weapon Mastery. However, if you’re below this threshold, it’s not an issue. Simply spec into the mastery trees that provide the most damage first.
Stats
Stats once you reach Tier 1 Epic gear can vary frequently due to stats built into gear. As a result, try to push for at least 50 Perception and 50 Dexterity while farming – gear depending. Below is our recommended baseline Stat allocation:
- Dexterity – 20 Points
- Perception – 21 Points
- Strength – 7 Points
Gear & Equipment
The gear loadout largely, if not entirely, stays the same across all content once you reach Tier 1 Epic. Our Tier 1 Epic set assumes that most of the base content has been unlocked with the Milestones completed.
Early on, make use of your Rare gear you acquired through MSQ. It is totally fine and expected to be in Rare gear for quite a long time – so don’t worry too much!
Guardian
Guardians are a unique transformation on a 10 minute Cooldown that gives powerful bonuses to you for 30 seconds. Some Guardians work as an additional “Active” Skill, while others provide buffs. We recommend the following Guardians for Solo Farming:
- Shade Revenant Stheno – Stheno is the most offense-heavy choice in PVE. This Guardian dishes out consistent damage dealing projectiles to multiple targets.
- Lady Knight Kamarshea – This Guardian is a fantastic safety net, just incase you’re taking too much damage during pulls. You’ll also get a huge amount of Cooldown Speed too.
How to Play The Longbow and Dagger Solo Build
Our Longbow and Dagger Solo build guide not only aims to teach you how to put it together, but also how to play it.
The main objective of playing this build solo is to be able to manage multiple mobs alone and efficiently clear them. Typically as a ranged class, the Longbow can struggle if you’re being constantly pummeled and CC’d by mobs in melee range. However, the Longbow has great tools to sustain itself, deal great damage and bind down a few targets. Kiting as a Longbow is the true specialty of the kit for farming.
Skill Rotations
The Longbow always focuses on beginning a rotation from afar, you can expect to use this rotation frequently:
- Inject Venom (Lightning Infusion)
- Ensnaring Arrow
- Decisive Sniping
- Flash Wave
- Strafing (all procs)
- Zephyr’s Nock
- Brutal Arrow
- Cleaving Moonlight
- Fatal Stigma (if they reach melee range)
- Brutal Incision (consume your Thunderclouds stacks on a target)
The above rotation assumes the mobs live throughout the majority of the combination. However, there’ll be many times you do not get through the whole rotation. If this seems to be the case, you can use the remaining parts of the rotation to start another pull.
This rotation also works on single-target situations if there isn’t many mobs spawned to pull at the time. While a ranged DPS class is typically squishy compared to other classes, the “Shadow Walker” Passive from the Dagger helps us survive by giving us Damage Reduction and Evasion.
For the Dagger Skills, you only want to use them whenever the mobs reach melee range OR you have no choice but to be melee. Fatal Stigma is a nice extra chunk of AoE damage, while Cleaving Moonlight can cleave and boost stacks of Thunderclouds.
Finally, make sure that you group as many mobs together as you can handle close enough before you use Flash Wave.
