Introduction
PLEASE NOTE: THIS GUIDE IS RELEVANT FOR THE OPEN WORLD, RIFTSTONE AND GUILD RAID VERSIONS OF KOWAZAN
Welcome to our Kowazan Guild Boss guide. In Throne and Liberty, multiple Raid Bosses appear throughout the open world and in Guild Raid activities. Each boss is at a different level and brings their own unique mechanics. Kowazan is a Level 50 Boss, as a result, we recommend tackling this with guildmates that exceed that level. Kowazan in the open world is found in Greyclaw Forest. However, once your Guild hits level 17, you can take on Kowazan with your Guild via the Guild Hall. Lets take a look at Kowazan’s mechanics and how to defeat it!

Kowazan Boss Fight [Normal Difficulty]
Day Time Version
Kowazan has two different boss fights depending on whether you approach him during the day or night. In this section, we’ll show you the Day-based mechanics of the fight. Kowazan uses a mixture of melee attacks, ranged attacks and jumping melee attacks to deal damage.
Additionally, Kowazan has a Fury Attack that lunges towards players, as a result, prepare to block it at the correct time!
Poison Knives
One of the central mechanics of the Kowazan fight revolves around the use of Poison Knives. This attack can happen in various ways. For example, Kowazan can pick a location to throw a cone of poisonous knives at – which of course should be avoided at all times! However, Kowazan can also decide to throw out a major AoE of poisonous knives in a full 360 degree radius.
Another step to the poison knives mechanic is a section where Kowazan selects several targets to poison, putting a knife indicator above their heads. In this mechanic, players with the mark above their heads must run towards other players, spreading the mark. This is because it spreads the poison stacks out among many players, if this is not done, each player with the mechanic stacks up immense amounts of poison, eventually dying.
A final, raid-wide mechanic shows Kowazan calling out, charging up a massive green AoE blast. Once the blast occurs, a large amount of players receive the knife spread mechanic above their head. However, the entire raid is also feared (which walks them away from Kowazan) and then stunned for a period of time immediately after. This can be a scary mechanic but if you keep calm and just proceed as normal, everything is smooth!
After this mechanic, the fight resumes as normal, repeating the above attacks. Continue DPSing the boss until it’s defeated!
