Introduction
PLEASE NOTE: THIS GUIDE IS RELEVANT FOR THE OPEN WORLD AND GUILD RAID VERSIONS OF CORNELIUS
Welcome to our Cornelius Guild Boss guide. In Throne and Liberty, multiple Raid Bosses appear throughout the open world and in Guild Raid activities. Each boss is at a different level and brings their own unique mechanics. Cornelius is a Level 48 Boss, as a result, we recommend tackling this with guildmates that exceed that level. Cornelius in the open world is found on floor 3 of the Syleus Abyss open world Dungeon. However, once your Guild hits level 16, you can take on Cornelius with your Guild via the Guild Hall. Lets take a look at Cornelius’s mechanics and how to defeat it!
Cornelius Drops
Cornelius Boss Fight [Normal Difficulty]
Phase 1
Cornelius has several attacks he can use right from the beginning of the fight. However, one of the most common attacks is a claw-like attack that shoots out in a straight line. This claw returns on itself, dragging players towards Cornelius! The blue barrier surrounding the arena is a wall you cannot pass through once the fight starts. As a result, value your life as you may find yourself unable to return to the fight!
AoE Fury Attack
The first large-scale attack you’ll see from Cornelius is a large AoE blast, telegraphed by a Fury Attack indicator. As a result, co-ordinate your guildmates to block at the correct time to avoid raid-wide damage.
Blue Blast Mechanic
Throughout the fight, Cornelius selects multiple targets in the raid and places blue sword markers above their heads. Shortly after, telegraphed blue circles begin to appear on the ground, exploding quickly and rapidly expanding in size with each successive explosion. As a result, make sure to Morph and run this mechanic out of the raid to avoid casualties.
Red Blast Mechanic
Another color-coded mechanic that Cornelius can cast is indicated by a red circle, with a crowned helmet above the players heads. This mechanic requires every player with the red marker to spread away from their teammates to avoid damaging them. A lot of players receive this mechanic at the same time, so space out accordingly!
Ranged Multi-Strike
The final attack you’ll come across during the Normal Difficulty Cornelius boss fight is a devastating ranged attack. This particular strike, unlike the claw attack seen previously, fires out in 5 directions. The attack is also telegraphed by a voice-line. It seems like the majority of the ranged attacks follow the engraved lines on the ground – so keep that in mind while positioning!
With all the mechanics above in mind, continue DPSing the boss until you defeat it!
