Introduction

The First Descendant Proficiency is an important thing to grind. Every time you gain a level of proficiency for a Descendant or a weapon, you will earn Mastery Rank experience. Mastery rank is important because it unlocks a ton of useful things for your account.

The First Descendant Proficiency

Weapon Level Proficiency

Weapon level and weapon proficiency are two completely different things. Your Weapon proficiency doesn’t increase the power of your weapon, but gives you progress towards your Mastery Rank. Weapon level is what determines the power of your weapon. Higher level weapons can be obtained in higher level zones and in hard mode.

The First Descendant Proficiency

Earning Mastery Rank is incredibly important to your power progression because earning rank will unlock additional module slots and capacity for both your weapons and your Descendant.

Weapon proficiency can level from 1-40, and a weapon’s actual level can be up to level 100. Once your proficiency is level 40 with a weapon you will gain the option to install a Crystallization Catalyst onto the weapon. This will allow you to change a module slot symbol effectively increasing the module capacity of that weapon.

However, whenever you do this the weapon’s proficiency will be reset back to level 1.

Descendant Levels

A Descendant does not have proficiency levels like a weapon. A Descendant simply has levels. However, each time you level up a Descendant you will gain experience towards you Mastery Rank. A Descendant’s maximum level is level 40.

Worth noting is that the amount of experience required to level you Descendant from 1-40 is the same amount of experience required to level your weapon proficiency from 1-40.

Proficiency XP Table

The below table shows how much proficiency experience you will need in order to advance to the next proficiency level in The First Descendant. The amount of experience per level is the same for both Descendant levels and your weapon proficiency levels. Each time you level up you will start back at 0 experience. Therefore, the XP required is the amount of XP you will need to gain in order to reach the next level of proficiency.
