Welcome to our Diablo 4 Necromancer leveling guide. In this guide, we will show you exactly what skills to take for a smooth and fun Necromancer leveling experience. For leveling, our build will be using Bone Spear, the easiest skill to scale as we level up!

Malignant Hearts, a new addition to Diablo 4 through the first Seasonal experience act as a huge boost to your build capabilities. As a result, we recommend using the following Malignant Hearts for this build:

Tempting Fate (Vicious, Offensive-World Tier III): You gain 40-60% Critical Strike Damage but your Non-Critical Strikes deal 20-15% less damage.
The Calculated (Devious, Utility-World Tier III): After spending 150-200 of your Primary Resource, your next attack Stuns enemies hit for 2 seconds.
Omnipower (Wrathful, Super-World Tier IV): Core Skills that launch a projectile consume all of your Mana. For every 45-35 extra Mana consumed, you launch an additional projectile, and the damage is increased by 3.0-5.0%.

NOTE – Omnipower is Dangerous due to our damage being linked to Max Essence. This can be very difficult as you level up! Make sure you have enough Essence sustain to utilize this Heart, otherwise go with one of the Alternative Choices until you do.

The Dark Dance (Vicious, Offensive-World Tier III): Every 5 seconds while above 60% Life, Core Skills cost 68-51 Life instead of your Primary Resource. Skills that consume Life deal 10-20% increased damage.
The Calculated (Devious, Utility-World Tier III): After spending 150-200 of your Primary Resource, your next attack Stuns enemies hit for 2 seconds.

Our first tip for this Diablo 4 Necromancer leveling guide is to team up with someone, be it a friend or someone you meet in Diablo 4. Teaming up greatly improves the leveling process and allows you to progress faster and easier – and much more fun!

Stay on World Tier 1 as long as possible, this only changes if you hit a power spike early on.
Make sure to Utilize Corpse Explosion with Grim Harvest to keep your Essence pool up early.
If possible, Make sure to level in a group to maximize XP
Bone Spear is best played at range. Utilize Decrepify to Slow Enemies and slowly Kite away from enemies as you deal damage
Make sure to Utilize Corpse Tendrils once you have an available corpse to Maximize Damage and Essence use.
